Metrics & Milestones

The team was thrilled to learn that Lifehacker Australia included Nugget’s News Crypto Podcast in its list of the 14 best money podcasts in Australia.

Another milestone came the way of our YouTube channel in January, with its aggregate view count ticking over the 5,000,000-mark earlier in the month.

Industry Involvement

Unfortunately, Australians will look back on January 2020 with upsetting memories of the ravaging bushfires that devastated various regions of the country. To help support those affected, we managed to raise and donate nearly A$20,000. Thank you again to the many who donated. There remain many crypto-friendly avenues through which to donate to Australian bushfire relief efforts (see bottom of article).

Business Development

Having doubled our full-time headcount to four late last year, we upped it by two more in January. This time, we hired two full-time web and app developers. In the near term, their main focus will be putting the final touches on our Members Dashboard and Resource Hub.

Alex joined eToro’s Popular Investor Program and got started as a CopyTrader. At the time of writing, there are 99 users copying Alex’s trades. In total, roughly $75,000 of these copiers’ funds are being used to copy him.

In Closing

It was pleasing to start 2020 with a record month in terms of new Nugget’s Crypto Community member sign-ups. The level of engagement and quality of discussion amongst members has noticeably increased in recent weeks.

February is going to be a particularly exciting time for the team. That’s because three of us—myself, our head of research, and social media specialist—have hired an office space in Brunswick, Melbourne. It will be a great opportunity to focus on those projects and tasks that aren’t all that well suited to remote work.
